Innovation was riding that early 90's indie comics boom and putting out lots of licensed properties from fantasy novels and defunct comic imprints while seeking out and hiring artists from South America like Deodato and Vargas. Like other young comics painters at the time, the quality of their art really put this kind of storytelling on the radar for fans and publishers alike.
