Crossroad Blues / Robert Johnson cover art by Chris Brunner (2017) - Image Comics / 12 Gauge Comics

I'm stoked to add this one! This is Chris Brunner's artwork for the Crossroad Blues graphic novel cover published by Image Comics April 25, 2018. This art was also used for promotional images. Brunner took inspiration from a photo booth portrait from around 1930. I believe it's one of two confirmed photos of Robert Johnson.

Johnson has been sited as influencing the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and countless other musicians. He's been credited as being a catalyst for rock 'n' roll as we know it today. He's was also the inspiration for the 1986 film Crossroads featuring Ralph Macchio, which was a film I watched way too many times as a kid.
