The personalities and the individuality of each one out of the pack is fully flashed out by Guarnido. A tremendous honor and a memorial as well to live on as long as there's a copy of the book somewhere in the world.

Simply priceless.
The genius of Guarnido's concept is on full display here. The lightness of the anthropomorphic characters and their cartoonish expressions contrasts so well with the violent noir action. It elicits various reactions depending on which elements I focus on, making it perfect for rereading. (Also, Cooper looks like he was a great dog.)
