Deadpool #21 Mike Mayhew Shakespeare Variant Cover - Deadpool goes Shakespeare as "SHAKESPOOL, THE MERCENARY OF VENICE".

11” X 17” on Strathmore 500 series Bristol Board, hand drawn in pencil, pen and ink wash.

This image of Deadpool is clearly intended to bring to mind the classic scene from Shakespeare's Hamlet when Hamlet finds the skull of Yorick, the royal jester. Considering the skull, Hamlet speaks as if Yorick is alive before him, uttering the words "Alas poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio ...".
