Really cool when the shadows of the bars connect with the brute in shadow that cover everything except the most distinguishing animalistic features. Crime noir imagery brought back in a big way by Risso.

This page is great for all of the reasons you mentioned. Love the panel where Sheppard lights up and the look of surprise he gives in the next one. Brilliant.
