John Romita Sr. and Mike Esposito The Amazing Spider-Man #40 Story Page 6 Green Goblin Original Art (Marvel, 1966). An iconic page from the annals of Spider-Man history! All masks are off and the Green Goblin reveals himself to be Norman Osborn. A defeated and helpless Peter Parker gets the disturbed villain to reflect on his origins, leading to the opening shot of this breathtaking page, as the reader witnesses the birth of the Green Goblin! Osborn puts his Goblin mask back on to finalize his victory as Spidey wonders if there is any chance of escape. Romita Sr. enthralls us with this pivotal scene and illustrates the reason why he is considered by many to be the greatest Spider-Man artist.

Iconic moment from one of Spidey's most iconic stories! I always think about how terrifying it must have felt for readers to see Peter unmasked. How was he going to get out of this??
