Cover is for Red Sonja Vol.1 #5, which reprints Marvel Feature #3 by Frank Thorne. Published in Spain c. 1977 Marvel Comics Group. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art being a near direct copy of Thorne's cover w/a giant tarantula on left instead of creature on original cover. Also Espí must have preferred Blonde Sonja as her hair is golden colored. Back of artboard has handwritten "R. Sonja, 5" at top in pencil. Art remains bright and clean. Tissue overlay w/notes taped to back on left side w/some tears. Art is Exc. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish comic books, featuring one of Marvel's popular Hyborian Age characters and is unsigned by artist.
