Kill Bill

I don't buy a ton of commissions, but I've been an admirer of the many Alex Riegel works on CAF and elsewhere. After seeing a very cool X-23 piece on his Instagram, I finally decided to contact him. We kicked around a few superhero-related ideas, but neither of us were really excited about the suggestions. Fortunately, we quickly discovered our mutual love of Tarantino's Kill Bill epic and were off to the races.

We kicked around a number of ideas and Alex was very excited to try a lot of different visuals -- from the layered quote (a Riegel staple) to the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique -- this work is packed with amazing charters and easter eggs -- The Bride calling out the Crazy 88s, Bill, Elle Driver, O'ren, Pai Mei stroking the beard (!), Go-go, Johnny Mo, P-wagon, Paula Schulz grave, the black mamba and the aforementioned Five Point Palm -- thanks to Alex for all of the effort and excellent craft he put into this work.
