Don Greer The Giant Toad

This illustration is from page 69 of Don Greer's book, "Down in the Dungeon." Don Greer tries to tell a little story on this page. The full title of this page, taken from the back of the board, is "Law of the Dungeon, Eat or Be Eaten; The Fisherman and the Giant Toad." This is the giant toad, who just caught his next meal. The second image will give you the whole story. This particular illustration is a gouache on board. This was one of my favorite pages from this book and I was really excited when I won this one. I love the detail in both critters and the narrative for this page (or does this count as a parable?).
