Description

Stephen Green Hellboy sketch. Back when I first saw Stephen post this sketch on his Instagram, I saved it to my phone. Stephen Green has always drawn beautiful Hellboy art. I was always jealous never getting one. Dec 2021 is when he first showed it off and I fell in love. Never seeing it go up for sale in the later months I thought he kept it or sold it already. Fast forward to FelixCon this was up for sale on one of the days. I was lucky enough to get it.

I had the pleasure of meeting Stephen Green at ECCC this year and he might be one of the funniest/nicest person you would ever meet. He is a Hellboy fan himself so bugged him for awhile at his table. I’m glad I got to meet him and let him know his Hellboy is in safe hands of a big fan.

I like that Green uses more rough brush work like he had to redesign it from the angular and flat style. It is usually the other way around. The horns and the background brushwork look very natual in how they flow upwards. Hellboy has a conquering King Conan feel with his huge outward presence.

Wonderful representation of the character! Stephen Green can definitely draw a proper Hellboy.
