Dark Supergirl Prelim 08

It's taken many months, but here we are at the official start of the coloring stage for Dark Supergirl. To fit in to the firey atmosphere - literally - I opted for Warm Gray Copic Markers to render the bodysuit. Specifically W2, W4, W6 and W8. To my mind, I had to leave some areas of the suit white so I could bring in E02 - Fruit Pink - to convey the flames coming from her left. E08 and E18 were for the red areas of the suit. For the cape, however, since my client request it be black instead of red, I'm going to have to go with some deeper shades, so E97 will be my choice, with lighter tones for the edges of the material closest to the burning car. Admittedly it's challenging trying to translate normal blacks and blues under a yellow-orange light source, but it's also growth, right? More as it develops.
