DescriptionA super cool pick up from earlier this year, at Rose City Comic Con 2022, from the amazing Eric Canete. Before sending this off with me, we had great fun poring over the piece with Eric in an attempt to find his signature (which he likes to hide in his pieces). After a few minutes, he shrugged and added a(nother?) signature: “I guess I didn’t sign it. But sometimes I do hide them so well that I lose them…”.Whether it was a sincere effort to locate the sig, or half-hidden attempt to (successfully!) coax a bunch of “ooh!”s and “ahh!”s from a couple fanboys closely studying his work (the webs under the arms! the beautiful buildings in the background! the great pov! the web he’s walking! the treads on the booties!) it was a very fun time, very well spent. Thank you, Eric! Social/Sharing |

The upper head tilt differentiates this from most typical Spidey sketches. Nice!

How is this not a cover?! I didn't know Canete hid his signature. Explains why his stuff is never is "signed." Still can't find it on this one. His signature style IS his signature.

After all these years, I've never seen Spidey walking on a web this way before. Cool innovative piece!

Nice con sketch, Jason. My favourite part os actually his usage of thegray marker to delineate the buildings and the extreme perdpective they're drawn in, as it gives a much stronger dramatic sense to the Spidey figure!

Awesome Spidey with a very cool background. I don't recall seeing skyscrapers done that way before, but it's outstanding!

Very, very, cool. Funny, it almost looks as if he's tilting his head just to fit into frame. And while I usually prefer black spaces to empty white spaces, the way it's done here almost looks like he's bursting out of some dimensional portal. Like I said, very cool.

Aunt May warned him to take his sticky web fluid outside because she was tired of cleaving his room.

Such a cool pose....the movement he creates in his pieces is always amazing...and that forced perspective..with the sig on the sole! Sweet!

This is absolutely amazing! Seriously one of the best SPidey pieces I've seen recently. Epic!

Love Eric's work and no exception here. Everything he touches screams "DYNAMIC"!

You know I likes me some Canete :) Nice upward perspective choice, and I like the little used choice of Spidey running/popping off one of his webs :) Also, so uniquely stylized - zero doubt that it's Canete when you look at it. Congrats!
