Description

The Age of Apocalypse dropped a few months after I started reading X-Men on the regular. Combine this with the fact the crossover was such a compelling read with amazing 90’s art makes it one of my favourite storylines of all time. I was a big fan of the costume redesigns.

I would love to add more art from the original series but I also couldn’t pass up on these Alvin Lee pages from the 10 year Anniversary either. Alvin’s anime inspired lines are a nice homage to Joe Mad's penicils on the original Astonishing X-Men book.

Some of the background detail was finished digitally. I need to work out how I can craft some overlays to maybe include the missing art.

Loved AoA Magneto's blacked out helmet design.

It looks like it came from the 90's during the event. Magneto floating above and talking downward reminds us of how he feels superior and above others.
