Description

Season two of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine featured a favorite episode of mine called Blood Oath. It was about three elderly Klingon warriors named Kang, Kor and Koloth who came to the station to recruit Jadzia Dax to help them get their revenge on a being called the Albino.

What made the episode special was that the three Klingons were all characters who had appeared in various episode of the original Star Trek back in the 60's, and they got the same actors who had portrayed them 30 years previously to reprise their roles. The actors were Michael Ansara as Kang, John Colicos as Kor and William Campbell as Koloth.

I had wanted to get a piece commemorating this episode for a while, when JK Woodward opened up his commission list. I knew JK was a big Star Trek fan, and it turned out Blood Oath was also a favorite of his. So the deal was struck, and he soon produced this magnificent painting that was so much better than what I had pictured in my head. Many thanks to JK!
