Addendum: Now beautifully restored by The Conservatory LLC of Austin, Texas! See second pic for before and after.

Acquired in the recent Heritage auction, this is the oldest piece of SF art I currently own. Title illo for "The Time Projector" by David Lasser, scientifictionist, rocket enthusiast and boy Socialist, and the redoubtable David H. Keller, in the July 1931 issue of Wonder Stories. As you can see, time-projectoring involves lots of gears.

Such great imagination by one of the all time hall of fame greats of early sci-fi! Most people could not visualize these fantastical ideas until he set the example.

I always thought Paul must have been a frustrated mechanic with all of his marvellous gadgetry from the age of rockets and ray guns.
