Great Buscema maiden! Savage Sword brought out the illustrative best for Marvel from action, drama, romance, and adventure!

Gorgeous John Buscema art for Savage Sword of Conan. I liked the way the larger magazine format and black and white reproduction allowed Savage Sword to feature art that was more illustrative and it seemed to encourage artists to put more effort into the art. To me, it was always a step above the art in the color monthly comic.
