I love the tension created by the 70 ton tank about to come down on the poor kid and his teddy bear. Great work by Kubert, the best War Comics artist of all time!

Long before there were stories about robots that transformed, there were stories about the Haunted Tank. The Haunted Tank stories by Joe Kubert really captured my attention as a boy. There was something fascinating about tanks and the war stories about them always tweaked my fancy. Love this cover with the massive, 30-ton tank seemingly poised to crush the little girl hiding in the rubble, just beneath the tank's massive treads. Joe Kubert was a genius in his ability to not only capture the look and feel of war, but also to depict its effect on the people caught up in its wake. This is a stunning example of his work!
