Arkham Manor 02 Original Cover Art

Arkham Manor #02 (January 2015) original cover art for "A Home for the Criminally Insane, Chapter Two". This is the 2nd issue in the 6-issue mini-series stemming from events in Batman Eternal 30 where the Spectre destroyed Arkham Asylum. This cover features Batman and his villain disguised alter ego Jack Shaw in the foreground, with the menacing head of Victor Zsasz in the background. All the characters are modeled larger then life, with the buildings of the grounds of Wayne Manor almost looking like props. Shawn's unique style shines through and presents a menacing cover hinting at the detective exploits and hunting a killer to come from the pages within.



All the main covers in this series were done by Shawn Crystal. I have known Shawn for years now, and I remember being very disappointed to miss out initially both on this and the Issue #1 cover art. Many thanks to Gregg Spatz for letting me be the caretaker of this piece AND completing the set of all 6 covers! At HeroesCon 2022, I brought the whole set with me to show Shawn, and he was impressed I managed to get it and also happy the entire set had a home together.



The art was digitally penciled and hand inked / brushed over printed blue lines by Shawn Crystal and is on 11"X17" art board.
