Myth Adventures (meets the Monkey's Paw!) - Art-vent Calendar 2022 - Day 15

Inspired by F M’s ‘Doodle Week’, I wanted to assemble a similar assortment of con sketch confectionery, delicious doodles, and candied commissions to celebrate the holiday season here on CAF…. Sort of a festive, goody-laden, OA Advent calendar…. The 2022 ART-VENT CALENDAR!

Day 15: Wrapping up this year’s Art-vent Calendar with two fantastic examples of one of the most amazing foundations of the Comic Art Fans experience: the kindness and generosity of the collectors / artists in the OA community.

This fantastic piece is a shout out to the artists of the WaRP Graphics 'Myth Adventures' series (one of my favorites), given to me by the mighty Yo Kuri. Not only does this beautiful piece stylistically reference the work of Phil Foglio, Tim Sale, and Jim Valentino, it’s also a great gag in its own right, with Skeeve making a dark wish upon… The Monkey’s Paw (executed in a manner reminiscent of Aahz and Skeeve’s first meeting)!

It -always- makes me smile, and is great work (with lovely, nuanced shading and textures throughout) from an incredibly kind and generous fellow.

I want to give a VERY sincere thank you not only to this terrific collector, but to the entire CAF community for making this a place of sharing, whether through posting art, spreading knowledge, giving laughter, or gifting comments. And thank you, Bill, for engendering such an environment.
