Barbs, in this context, is shorthand for barbarian girls. Cute, huh? :=D

I was a happy fan and collector of SQP Gallery Girls art in the late '90s and early '00s. One might say these are SQPieces (ouch!).

I enjoyed the books' umbrella concept of commissioning artists to create classy pin-ups in pencil only.

Each title revolved around a theme, often a supernatural or fantasy concept. Witches, female vampires, devil girls, mermaids and jungle girls all received their due in the series, to name a few.

Sebastià Boda was one of the Spanish artists recruited for the sole Barbs volume. I'm a sucker for tonal pencil art anyway, and I like the dynamic sketchiness of Boada's style. His female faces are also spectacular, as shown here.

What a beauty! We're too distracted above to see she's wiping blood off her sword after a kill. That cuff on her arm with the skulls are also a hint to not take her lightly.

Barbs, huh? I love it. And this Barbarian Girl by Sebastià Boda certainly deserves to be in that category. Sebastià's work is absolutely stunning. Great pick-up!
