Description

About a year or so after I'd started collecting original art, I was going through one of my comic long boxes and stumbled across the variant for premiere issue of the 2017 Cable series. Loving the comic book version, I immediately knew I wanted the original art if it existed. So began a hunt that lasted a number of months, and after doing some sleuthing and making a number of inquiries, I eventually found it. For whatever reason, I didn't move on the piece then and there, but providence was on my side, for when I went to the art show over in Lake Como, there it was, on Adam Kubert's table, just waiting for me to pick it up. And so, after some polite conversation and after a few more months had passed, I finally had this glorious Cable cover in my possession! I'm pretty sure this is my first Adam Kubert cover and personally, I think it's a heck of a way to break into collecting the man's art!

Congrats on finally getting this. I don't know what you were thinking when you finally found this piece and decided to pass on it after several months of hunting it down, but this must've been a case of serendipity. Well done!

After reading Rubens comment I thought I would pass on a word of advice. If the opportunity to hook up with Kate Beckinsale comes along, don't pass it up.

I don't know, Simon, if you had passed that second time when it was on Adam's table, the cover may have just appeared at your front door. It obviously really wanted to be part of your collection! And what a cover! Major congrats!

The imagination to come up with those gun designs is tremendous! So much smoke is coming out of them like chimneys! A great number one cover that Kubert creates to embody the best of what we think of with Cable.

I remember inquiring to Adam's art rep/website about this cover a few times 3-4 years ago and never got any response. This is a FANTASTIC cover, pure 90's goodness right here. Congrats on finding this! I have a blown up poster of this on my garage wall. Beautiful piece!!!
