Description

In New Mutants Special Edition #1, Chris Claremont stranded obese Karma in a desert where she was forced to fend for herself and hunt wild game until her clothes were torn to shreds and her physique returned to svelte. Claremont expanded the concept with Jim Lee in Uncanny X-Men; Rogue was stuck in the Savage Land without her powers long enough to create an indelible new character archetype: half X-Man, half classic pulp jungle girl. Today, if you Google a random image of Rogue, it's highly likely you'll find one along these lines.

This particular iteration comes courtesy of Tom Nguyen, the artist behind clever indie series like Electricia: The Switch and Daybreak.
