Invincible Red Sonja #1 (2022) remarque

OK, this 3 inch circle of art was never intended to be blown up to poster size; let's have that understood! Just stand back when you look at it...

The Red Sonja license currently resides at Dynamite Comics, with Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti launching the new series, 'Invincible Red Sonja.' Arthur Adams and his wife Joyce Chin each provided a variant cover for the first issue, with a remarque opportunity in the corner. On such a close-up image, you can see how he drew both eyes entirely, with lashes, on the blue pencil prelim, then covered the eyes partially with bangs for the ink version. Adams did many of these, so it will be interesting to see how much they vary from each other.

This was the first piece of Arthur Adams art that I bought, though as things turned out it was not the first piece I actually received; that honor goes to a page from New Mutants Special Edition #1.
