The Question by Val Semeiks

The Question and Jonah Hex are characters very much open to interpretation. I think that's what makes them interesting as commission subjects. Plus it's not the usual request that artists get.

Here Val gives us a cool Ditko-esque Question. I don't ask for a Ditko or Cowan style Question, I simply ask for the Question. The artist is free to interpret the character however they want. I think Val did a fantastic job giving it a Ditko feel, especially in the smoke strands. He looks very much like a Ditko character. I love it.

Very cool with the smoke loosely making the logo? Semeiks keeps the mysterious tone of the character intact.

Really fun Question piece. But come on, dude, not a single word of description? No quotes from Semeiks about his thought process? The feathering on this piece reminds me of Gibbons' feathering style.

The second I saw the thumbnail image for this, by brain immediately registered "that's Ditko-style smoke." Another wonderful piece by Semeiks.
