Zu Orzu has been an artist that I started paying close attention to this year for her amazing painted cover work. When a spot opened up for NYCC 2022, I saw my chance for a nicely finished piece.

I gave a couple of options and Zu chose Furiosa from Mad Max Fury Road. I specifically let her know it didn't have to be a Charlize likeness. Zu overdelivered with a wonderful image that could be a poster for the upcoming Furiosa prequel.

Love the hazy effect that she creates to show the heat from fire/sun in the desert. A beautiful yet fierce image of Furiosa in her blacked out top and eyes and a barren desert landscape in the background complete the image. Very happy with the result and addition to the collection.

This would make for a paperback novel cover right out of the 80's when Mad Max first came out.

Amazing illustration! Great control of the composiiton --- so matter where I start looking at this image, my gaze is directed to that eye. Love the mix of landscape, portrait, and 2-D graphical elements. Great colors, handling, and design in this

Really digging her unique take here. The color gradients are killer, as well as the whole graphic design. I gotta look into her work more. Congrats!
