DescriptionPage from Book One of Mamoru Uchiyama's epic manga adaptation of the novel Onimaro Zanjin Ken (Onimaro Slasher Sword) by Keiichiro Ryu.Plot: The dying wish of a shamed master swordsmith (Kiyomaro) is for his apprentice (Onimaro) to track down and destroy the inferior swords that Kiyomaro created for quick money earlier in his career. In his quest to redeem his master's honor, Onimaro runs afoul of several clans and daimyō in late Edo period Japan. Serialized in Weekly Mass magazine. From the magazine, Shūkan taishū, in 1992, by artist Mamoru Uchiyama (died 2011) known for his Ultraman manga. The seller had this info about the manga: Onimaru Swordsman Sword based of the 1987 novel by Keiichiro Ryu. The story takes place in Shinshu Province (Nagano). A young swordmaker, Kiyomaro, tries to protect his master's name, Onomaru. Kiyomaro must fold the few swords he can as a gang, who have a grudge against his master, tries to stop him.
