A very major piece! The colors of Mars' atmosphere and red ground is painted with great care. The figures and the winged beasts are also done with precision and with proper weight that would have you believe their flying to be natural in that environment.

Seeing this image took me back to the 1980s when the paperback with this painting was in full view on my father's bookshelf. I haven't thought of it since. Thank you for the Barsoom/Jasoom-like transportation to a place in my childhood.
