For American edition of an 1899 Welsh novel by Anne Adalisa Beynon Puddicombe a pseudonym of Allen Raine
Watson Davis was a major American illustrator of this era and is quite scarce.9 by 5b 1/2 inches wash on board - the writing on the bottom is on a separate piece - This was proabbly done for a smaller size cheap edition almost the sixe of a contemporary paperback
