Description
I'd wanted to add something of Pearson's to my collection for a while now but haven't been able to track down any Body Bags, which is one of my all-time favorite series. My understanding is that Jason had kept all his BB work close and there really wasn't any on the secondary market. So I was always on the lookout for something else of Jason's...
This John Lennon piece showed up on eBay, and on December 17th 2022 I bought it. It was shipped on the 18th and arrived to me on 12/21/22. News broke on January 18th 2023, that on December 19th, 2022 Jason passed away naturally of a heart attack at the much too early age of 52.
John Lennon is absolutely one of me and my wife's personal heroes, and I'm extremely grateful to have this up on my wall - as a memory of John Lennon and his incredible music and message of peace; and now also as a memory of Jason and his incredible gift for art and storytelling.
The words in pencil say "Too Late 4 Goodbyes."
Thank you John, and thank you Jason.

WOW!!!!!  Absolutely fabulous piece!  Love all that black.  And the combination of realism and caricature is just brilliant.  One of the best Pearson pieces I've seen in a while.  Congratulations!

A wonderful piece with a mixture of cartooning and illustrative realism that speaks to the complexity of Lennon as a person.  Even though he was able to bring joy to the world through his music, his darker side would deny that joy to those close to him.

I was tempted by this but the subject matter didn't appeal to me as much as it did to you ;)

What I loved best about it is the contrast between the main figure and the animated Beatles above him.

That's awesome, Nathan.  Go that realistic rendering mixed Jason's stylized comic book look.  Suh-weet ebay grab.  Congrats!

The first time I commented on this piece, I almost wanted to cry because it was so beautiful.  Now I feel like crying for a different reason.  Rest in peace Jason.  I miss you already.

So true Eric, just such a huge loss. Jason's work was in a league of it's own, and that goes for his writing too. Still gut punched by the news.

One of the best pieces that I've seen created by Pearson, which is no small thing considering his immense talent.  A fitting way to remember both the artist and his subject matter.
