The Trigan Empire ‘The Falling Moon’ by Don Lawrence. From Ranger #34 07th May 1966

A true grail for me. This was one of the first comic stories I saw as a child, and before I was even old enough to read!

The artwork you can see here was originally spread over pages 32 and 33 of Ranger magazine #34 in 1966. When publisher Fleetway wanted to put together an annual together collecting early Trigan Empire tales, ‘The Falling Moon’ was one of those selected for inclusion. The art was then reformatted into what you see here, and this is precisely how I recall seeing it for that first time. The colours are still so vibrant too. Treasure!
