Gremlins: Mogwai 'R' Us

This took me a horrendous amount of time to conceptualize, pencil, ink, and finally render, but it's on its way to its customer. And here it is for you guys to see and hopefully enjoy. This mixed media 11 x 14" piece is based on the Gremlins franchise. The concept is that, once again, Gizmo the Mogwai got doused in water, birthing a new batch of Mogwai that eat after midnight and become the reptilian, insane Gremlins. Initially a stunt-like leap into the air, I instead opted for the returned Stripe hanging on to the drone Gizmo is hanging from, even a few strands from his mohawk shaved off from the spinning propeller. And this time, it's in the after hours of a toy store, and Gizmo must fight for his life. I've included tropes in this sketch that hardcore fans will recognize, such as the Flasher Gremlin, Warner Bros. associated paraphernalia, cosplayer Gremlins in Warner-owned properties, Gizmo's flaming arrow and bow dropping to the ground, Gremlins wearing swag, and so forth. Oh, and a ton of trash on the floor, mostly candy since they're notoriously always hungry. The night tones were achieved through B93 to B99, and the general color scheme for Gremlins were BG96, G99, and E40-43. I went as far as I could with this piece and I hope that my client will be pleased with the result.
