Description
Worlds Unknown was a Marvel science fiction anthology series which was published in the 1970's. It attempted to adapt classic science fiction stories into the comic book medium. This issue adapts the classic film "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and material from its original source, the short story "Farwell to the Master" by author Harry Bates. Since I am a huge fan of both the film and the short story, it was a no brainer to pick up this dynamic cover by Rich Buckler and inker Wayne Howard! Worlds Unknown # 3 was published by Marvel Comics in September 1973, already 50 years ago!

Ambitious undertaking for Marvel as they did the Classics Illustrated line as well to capture as much audience as they could.  Buckler has a dynamic comic book cover design in the Marvel style to make the scene even more dramatic and pulse pounding than what the book could accomplish!
