Description
"Blood Is the Code!" written by Bob Haney, January 1972.

This pickup is from Mike Burkey during Dueling Dealers...are you kidding me?!

Joe Kubert's cartoon realism was an excellent fit for DC war comics such this story featuring the Unknown Soldier. Mr. Kubert--who's among the few comic artists I don't feel comfortable calling by his first name given his extensive history and expertise in the business--designed this page with top and bottom single panels that Howard Chaykin recommends in his comic art classes to set the stage and bring the story forward.

Love the center panel with the shading under the cap just as a sinister thought comes to his mind with the discovery of the cryptographer!
