Description

George Martin was an artist for the UK publisher DC Thomson. There were actually two artists with that name that worked for the company. This George Martin worked briefly for DC Thomson but shouldn't be confused with more prominent artist who worked on the Dandy and Topper comics.

This nude study was taken from one of his sketch books I picked up years ago along with a bundle of loose sketches that were sold after he tragically died in a house fire. There was probably 250 pages in total with most being face and body studies, some nude although most not, and in a variety of media - charcoal, pencil, biro, crayon, water colour or a combination of any.
