Description

Coipel's work on Magic Order really felt like him being allowed to let his artistic creativity flow and muscles flex.

I grew up wanting to draw like John Byrne, but if I launched myself back into illustrative Art today I'd probably be desperate to emulate Coipel more than any other Artist working in comics at the moment.

Purchased via the Artist's rep, Kwan Chang.

Emulating Coipel comes at a cost of painstaking line and illustration before taking wash ink to everything. Hand cramps come to mind!

Spectacular page, Christian! Incredible atmosphere and glorious storytelling, ratcheting up the tension in this unforgettable scene via washes, hatching, and just plain -gorgeous- rendering. Love the bare white background in panel four (to say nothing of the terrifying eyes), allowing the villain to pop out in sharp contrast to Moonstone in panel three. 'The Magic Order' was Coipel unleashed, and your beautiful page is an undeniable testament to that. AWESOME add, Christian! Congrats!

Amazing moment, this scene makes the moments in issue five and six more jaw dropping. The Venetian is this story's Darth Vader
