Irish McCalla as Sheena by James Martin

Offered here is a portrait of "Irish" McCalla who was best known as the star of the 1950s television series, "Sheena, Queen of the Jungle". McCalla was also a model for pin-up girl artist Alberto Vargas.

James Martin worked for Disney as an animator and has become known for his comic-related commissions (as well as pin-ups).

The piece is done in mixed media (ink, colored pencils) with an image area of 10 x 14" on a larger 12 x 16.5" piece of artist paper. It is signed by Martin in the lower right of the image.
