Description

Francisco Solano López (1928 – 2011) was one of the best comic artists of the great Argentine school, co-creator with legendary author Héctor Germán Oesterheld (1919 - desaparecido 1977) of "El Eternauta", one of the best sci-fi sagas ever made in comics field.
During his over 50 years career Solano López worked for many publishers in South America and Europe, equally at ease in every comics genre, from horror to sci-fi, from war to romance, from thriller to erotic.
This is a nicely done, suspenseful page from the series "Aguila Negra" (Black Eagle), published in 1981 on the comic magazine Nippur Magnum, in which an Allied commando risks being ambushed by German troops during WWII.

The women shine on this page. While the troops move around, the women get the best scenes of the page and we hang on each interaction.

Gorgeous page from Solano López! Love the visual storytelling on this page! The action flows very smoothly from panel to panel and every scene contributes to the story. I love the figure work and the inks. Thanks for sharing!

When you do something as important as El Eternauta, it seems that you haven't done anything else but this page is a good example of Solano Lopez's mastery
