11.75x15.5" artboard has mixed media original art by comic artist J.L. Blume, known for his cover work on Spanish comic books starring The Phantom. Cover is for the Spanish edition of "El Hombre Enmascarado" #9, which was published in Spain by Valenciana as part of their Del Colosos Comic line in 1980. Artboard has image area measuring 10x14.75" showing art for "False Prince" cover story, w/The Phantom riding a circus elephant and a pitchfork wielding clown w/circular background image featuring the Phantom's face and a falcon. Signed by Blume on art. Back has the artist's inkstamp. Art has taped on layout bond overlay. Some corner/edge wear in margins, lt. soil on back. Art remains bright, clean and displays Exc. Cover and contents were exclusive to the Spanish market and saw no US counterpart. Comes w/reading copy of the comic this cover art was created for.
