DescriptionVirgil Ross (1907-1996) was an award-winning artist/animator whose most famous work was for the iconic Warner Brothers cartoons. He worked for some of the most important producers of animation including Tex Avery, Bob Clampett and Friz Freleng. Ross is most closely associated with Bugs Bunny, including in the role of animator for A Wild Hare, considered to be the first appearance of Bugs Bunny. Three of the cartoons he animated (Tweety Pie, Birds Anonymous and Knighty Knight Bugs) won Oscar Awards. Ross won the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Award in 1984 and the Winsor McCay award in 1988, the two highest awards in the animation industry.This art has an image area of approximately 9" X 8"" on paper measuring about 12.5" x 10.5" Social/Sharing |
