I'm just a sucker for a nice watercolor. I think it's always been my favorite color medium. Not that I can't (or don't) appreciate other paints like oil or acrylic, but sometimes they can just be a little too intense. If you want softness and subtlety, it's hard to beat watercolors. Especially with someone who really knows how to use it. This is just lovely. I can't imagine it would hold the same charm for me if it were done any other way. It's really a wonderful study, and not so far removed from the final version. Congrats and enjoy!
