Description
This is Arthur Adams first paid published work in comics. A pinup in the letter page of Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew.

Excerpt from an interview in Comic Book Artist #17:

"Was that your first published work?"
Arthur: That might've been the first, but the first piece I was ever definitely paid for, was a pin-up in the back of Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew! Those of us of a certain age remember the Farrah Fawcett poster of her in a one-piece swimsuit, very multi-colored background, and I basically copied it for a Zoo Crew character, "Farrah Foxette," and I sent that to the letters page and got a call from Roy Thomas telling me, "We'd really like to publish this, but we can only pay you $10!" I said, "That's cool!"

1982?  Good god that's early!  But some of that signature linework was already there.  Wonderful discovery, thanks for sharing!

This is great and ranks up there with those tryout pieces he did later that he didn't get paid for while breaking into the business.  The face is a nice meow mix of Farrah and a fox.  It certainly looked more appealing than the actual Fara Foxette.

When this appeared in Captain Carrot, I thought it was so cool that I showed my mom. She was not as gushing for some reason. That's the way it goes with art!
