I commissioned Drew Posada to digitally color Nurse Candy for the production of a line of WHOOPS! pin-up girl stickers. How many of you have read the comic strip about how WHOOPS! started? It’s at the front of the Sketches & Drawings book I published for Armando in 2007. Do you know how hard it was to convince Armando to draw the first WHOOPS! character? We were fighting about it for hours! I told him that I wanted a nurse. “No way! I’m a real pin-up artist now and I don’t want to return to drawing those crappy toons.” I threatened to drive him to LAX and send his ass back to Mexico. “LAX!” is what I always used to say to him when he argued with Me. Armando is probably the most stubborn person I’ve ever known in My life so I gave up and walked away. Later, he walked up to Me and handed Me a piece of paper with a nurse on it. I called her “Nurse Candy”. He told Me that she was going to be the only one.
