Description

I have been a big fan of Alan's back to his Captain Britain days which led into his Excalibur work and beyond. While Dave Cockrum is THE Nightcrawler artist for me since he created Kurt, I love Alan's Nightcrawler just as much.
I have been looking for a nice Nightcrawler cover by Alan and a couple of years ago Alan drew the Giant Size Nightcrawler #1. The story was great but the cover blew me away. Recently Alan decided to sell the cover and thru the help of Paul Greer I was able to get the original art for the published cover. I don�t have it yet but it will be on its way soon.
Alan did an amazing job on the composition and inking. Love how he spotted the black. Big thanks to Alan Davis and Paul Greer for helping make this happen. The highlight of the year.

A masterclass in inking with how Davis dramatically controls how each element is brighter in the foreground or fades into the shadows starting from Kurt's left foot and moving up to his face and then back towards the window.
