Gotta love that last panel
Oh man!! Who would have ever thought a comic would be named after soil that is distant! So much better then X-Men! Congrats!
I know the art of Colleen
Stand behind me come Wednesday, mmm
I know now that gallery, yeah
For it’s finally her display
It's a Distant Soil (Ooh, ooh)
That’s where she comes from
Yes, it is now, yeah
That’s her chance she made it, hey
Because she focused on art goals
We can wish it, Doran takes it, hey
Just remember that you've been told
It's a Distant Soil (It's a different world)
It's a Distant Soil (It's a different world)
Yeah, that’s where this comes from
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
That’s where this comes from
Warp factor 10!
Is Jason really being seduced by Beys? Reading this page alone, it could easily be interpreted as Beys has clearly come on to him in the previous page, but Jason being the virginal little prude that he is, starts giving her the "I'm waiting until marriage" speech when he suddenly realizes the growing bulge in his pants and decides "Ah, fuck it, I wanna get laid!", so he quickly tells Bey that he loves her, in order to give himself the alibi he needs after the guilt from his shame comes roaring, post-copulation!
Beautiful linework and the background contrasts of white and then black frame the page perfectly as the situation becomes heated.
A beautiful and hypnotic page... Especially when you're reading it, it weaves its spell on you through the richness of each panel; the clean foreground figures and luscious textures supporting them. (is that band of roses a stat? or are those penciled in...?) My favorite is the seventh panel, which sports a bit of everything, beautifully textured. Lovely pick up, M L - congrats!
Thanks Jason! Definitely a stat! But I wouldn't put it past Colleen to have done it by hand!
Great page, congratulations!
Beautiful artwork. I still remember traveling from comic book store to comic book store in the pre-eBay mid-1990s trying to track down "A Distant Soil" back issues. She really has put her all into this series.
