Preliminary drawing on tracing paper. The eventual image used was by Carson Grubaugh, but this was likely done while Sim was still working fully on the project.

Although not used in the main book, it was published on page 91 of 'The Preliminary Strange Death', a collection of Sim's prelims published as a side-project to the Living the Line edition of 'The Strange Death of Alex Raymond'.
