Blackhawk (1980) convention comnission by Howard Chaykin Owner: Frank Why Comment posted on 7/16/2025 How odd to see this pop up. I just bought it about a month or so ago. I haven't posted my scan yet, so I was a little weired out to see it here. |

1982 Atari Force mini-comic packaged with Atari 2600 video game Phoenix Issue 3 page 13 featuring the Malaglons Owner: Brian Lambert Comment posted on 4/3/2024 I have another page from this story and the frog-like appearance is the original. The more monstrous appearance was added later. I have the overlay of the more monstrous appearance (check my gallery), while yours appear to have fallen off, based on the glue residue visible. How and why an earlier version of the page was published later, I don't know. |

![]() Okay, thanks! I can kind of see that now. There's a bit of a jump near the edge of where he marries the line of the cloud up. Now I'm *really* curious as to what's under there. (Could be a whole different Fritzi!) Don't damage it, of course, but maybe try looking with a strong light behind it? I've had that work before so I could at least get a sense of what was back there. |

Fritzi Ritz at the pool Sunday Owner: George Hagenauer Comment posted on 5/14/2020 Very nice. I wonder what the paste-up over Fritzi was? There's nothing on the printed version, so why would she need to be covered over? Odd. |

Josie Jones / McCoy (Archie Comics) sketch card by Rick Geary Owner: Philip R. Frey Comment posted on 8/20/2015
Shad Daly said:
Are you sure this is Josie? It looks like Valerie to me... ![]() Nope! No way to be sure. But I checked all the ways the girls are portrayed and Josie seemed more likely to have this hairstyle. The only thing I'm sure of is that it's not Melody. |

Josie #18 pg,. 21 Dan DeCarlo & Vincent DeCarlo Owner: Don Raskin Comment posted on 10/9/2013 I *so* almost bought this page like a thousand times. I'm glad to see it went to someone who appreciates it. I *love* this era of Josie, particularly Pepper (which is why I have a whole gallery devoted to commissions of her). Great buy. |

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Disney) comic strip adaptation pencils by Hank Porter Owner: Philip R. Frey Comment posted on 1/18/2013
Alex Johnson said:
Pencils are the best and these are lovely. Any idea what happened to panel B? ![]() Looking at other examples from this series, it seems that sometimes Porter simply didn't pencil all the panels. The top and bottom parts of this sequence were fully drawn, this one just the two panels. (Probably why I got it cheaper than the others, so I'm perfectly okay with it.) |

Looks more like Willie Scott from temple of doom w the bugs... ![]() I think you're right. It was sold as Marion, but I hardly ever watch "Temple", so wouldn't have caught that. It seemed odd. Good call. |

Funny strip. I've never seen it before. ![]() Me, neither. It's one of the reasons collecting the "birthday" strips is so much fun: I'm exposed to many strips I had never heard of before they popped into my searches. |

Betty and Veronica #190 (Archie) page 14 featuring Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge by Jeff Shultz and Henry Scarpelli Owner: Philip R. Frey Comment posted on 3/5/2011 Well, I have certainly learned to double check whenever buying from someone who doesn't have a clear history with comic book art. I'm keeping the piece and accepting a partial refund (not as much as I'd like, but I want this situation resolved). I will be trying the flattening method as soon as I can make sure I've got all the stuff I need available, so assuming that works, I'll feel that its all worked out. Hopefully that will be the case. It's been an abject lesson for me to be more sure of a seller before buying. I hope that if any of you haven't had such an experience, that you never do. But the rallying 'round on display here has been great. It's calmed me down, now that I have a clear path to follow. Thanks, everyone! |

Betty and Veronica #190 (Archie) page 14 featuring Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge by Jeff Shultz and Henry Scarpelli Owner: Philip R. Frey Comment posted on 3/4/2011 To be honest, regardless of his claims, I don't think he has much experience with comic art. I don't want to give his ebay ID here, but I'll link to the eBay listing, where those who wish can find him and see pictures of the page before it left his hands. Seems to be a sports card store. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150477046765 |

Betty and Veronica #190 (Archie) page 14 featuring Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge by Jeff Shultz and Henry Scarpelli Owner: Philip R. Frey Comment posted on 3/4/2011 It cost $20 + $5 shipping. He's offering $8 and I suspect that's as high as he'll go. (Just a vibe I'm getting.) It's tough. I don't really want to send it back (1) because of the hassle and (2) the reasons you cite. It's only going to get worse. No, it's not the most important piece in the history of comics, but it's an original and desrves more respect than its gotten. I'm practically convinced now to just take what he'll give, for the artwork's sake. |

Betty and Veronica #190 (Archie) page 14 featuring Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge by Jeff Shultz and Henry Scarpelli Owner: Philip R. Frey Comment posted on 3/4/2011 Well, the guy says he'll give me my money back and I should ship it back "any way I want". Part of me wants to ship it back in the same envelope and in the same way he sent it to me. Part of me wants to ship it the way he should have shipped it to me in the first place, just to show him how it's done. |
