Great call on the JHWIII reference - superb page Jason! As usual, McKone doesn't cut any corners and Lanning has done a wonderful job with the task. Congrats!
They don't build flag poles like they used to. That's why Bruce had them banned in Gotham. Thank heavens for gargoyles.
I can see how you would use the words 'amazing' and 'spectacular' to describe this piece, though I think "Web of" describes it even more accurately. The panel design is so cool, but I really love each individual Spidey drawing, especially how the solid blacks really stand out and the precise webbing on the costume as well. Not to mention all the gorgeous, precise details of the background buildings. Really fab, congrats!
Big yes to JH Williams III here. I love how clean McKone is and he has clearly articulated his feelings about Spidey's costume here. It's red and black, people!

Man, zero question why you picked this one up. Got so much going for it. Unique layout, supporting what's going on in-panel. And each panel - different perspectives, compositions, movement...really one of those pages you and pore over and over and over. I'm sure you have. Aerial acrobatics are brought to life on this page! Form = function in this case as the killer design works in service of the storytelling. You have an exceptional eye. Congrats amigo!

Wow! Insanely cool graphic layout on this page! Mike McKone's panel designs are instantly distinctive, especially the two spider-shaped panels (Panels 2 & 4). The rest of the panels are in some kind of sunbeam shape, which seem to reflect the changes in action as Spidey topples from the top of the building towards the street. All beautifully rendered by McKone and then distinctively inked by Andy Lanning. Love Lanning's lavish use of spot blacks to help the eye move from scene to scene. Overall, it's one of the more unique pages I've seen in a while. Great pick-up! Congrats!
Probably the most fascinating and visually pleasing layouts I've ever seen! And since the layouts are for a Spider-Man page, EVEN BETTER! Love how the two spider tracer outlines highlight various key elements, and the top right outline seems like a sun with beams radiating from it. Mike McKone found a way to make a "Spidey plummet" even more exciting and engaging than it usually is. Wow wow woooow!!
