Klaus: Jesper and Alva commission by animator John Pomeroy

      Animator John Pomeroy was working on Disney features in the 1970's until joining Don Bluth's breakaway group. For the Dragon's Lair video game, he animated hero Dirk the Daring and Princess Daphne. John returned to Disney for a time in the 1990's, but has seemed to bounce around to projects where he can continue to draw. My friend Karen and I met John at WonderCon following an Atlantis: The Lost Empire panel in 2001. In November 2017, John came out to CTNX Animation Expo and offered some drawings for sale. I caught up to him on Sunday and bought Dirk and Daphne from the video game and Mrs Brisby from the movie The Secret of NIMH. John offers artwork and commissions on his website. I loved the Sergio Pablos film Klaus. John was a remote animator for the film production on the mail carrier Jesper. Alva is the town’s sole teacher.
