Description

Here�s a fun page from Superman: The Man of Steel by Doug Mahnke and Tom Nguyen. Lex Luthor is being sworn in as President of the United States at his inauguration when he�s attacked by an eco terrorist meta human that goes by Quake. Superman, Steel, the Star Spangled Kid, and Stripes all move to stop him while Lex watches with amusement as Superman is forced to defend his President. I�ve always been a fan of Doug Mahnke�s Lex Luthor. I own a couple blue line inks of his work but none with his original pencils. Fortunately for me, his art rep had this page for sale on a livestream sale. I�ve also been hunting President Lex pages so this being during his inauguration checked another want of the list. Lex may not be the focus but there�s plenty of great action going on on the page. Plus you get a little bit of everyone: Lex, Superman, Quake, Steel and Stars & Stripes

The president has his own security detail. Lex is just legitimizing Superman and super beings more by relying on them. Very nice artwork with Mahnke and Nguyen putting very clean details for so many charcters appearing on this page. It has an animated feel from the strong clean lines.
