DescriptionJoe has been my favorite artist for as long as I've been a comic fan and and I have been fortunate enough to be able to call him a buddy of mine. He has always been too generous with me, which I appreciate more than I could ever say and try very hard not to take that for granted. A few years ago at Comic-Con, I got a signing ticket for Bruce Campbell. The army of darkness is one of my favorite movies. We were told we could get either the poster give away signed, or 1 item of our choosing. I ran over to Joe and asked him if he would he would do a loose sketch that I could get signed. He did that and then told me to bring it back and he would finish it later after they signed it. I received a fantastic Ash a while later. It was amazing and I was through the roof. I later considered commissioning another artist or two to fill in the ruby character to represent Lucy Lawless's signature, and Sam rainey portrayed as a deadite. Joe couldn't do it as he was busy. A while later, I had an opportunity to see Joe again. I decided to bring Ash back to him because he'd forgotten to sign it. I asked if he were taking commissions for the show and he was. We worked out that he would add in the other two characters. Shortly after, I got this fantastic piece! Love it!Fun side-note...I asked Director Sam Raimi to add a little sketch of the Book of the Dead. He made sure it was little, but he did it! Such a grail! Social/Sharing |

Truly masterclass and with an epic story to boot! Thanks for sharing. Love the little book of the dead sketch too. The attention to details here are wicked legendary.
